Mira Road builder's driver hit dog near temple with iron rod

Case Report:
A dog sitting outside a temple at Sheetal Nagar, Mira Road East, was hit on the head by the driver of a Mira Road builder with an iron rod. The driver claimed that the dog attacked him and bit him, whereas several people at the temple said that the dog did no such thing. In fact the public gathered and stopped the man from hitting the dog. The dog ran for his life several buildings away. The culprit was booked under IPC Section 428 and PCA Act Section 11 (c) for hitting the dog. He was behind bars for the entire weekend.
