Stray Dogs taking Shelter in buildings during rains are attacked :Case Registered in Andheri East Police Station & Samtanagar Police Station

Case 1 : Stray Cats & Dogs are beaten & animal lovers are harassed

On 21st June 2015, Salim Charania (president of Pawa India) received a call from Mrs. Sultana Shaikh, an animal lover and resident of chakala Andheri East, She complained about the accused Vijayendra Suryaman kamle aged 25, who used to beat stray cats and dogs to whom she used to feed, He was not allowing the animals to take shelter in the area during heavy rains, He used to abuse & threatened Sultana with dire consequences if she continues with her animal welfare.

Salim forwarded the call to Ms. Lata Parmar who is trained professionally for cruelty cases under Salim's Training of handling animal cruelty cases. She reached with the complainer at Andheri Police Station in the morning, She took the animal cruelty case to the duty officer PSI Nitin Kadam and the police constable were sent with Lata to get the accused to the Police Station. The accused was given good warning by the officers and he was booked for Animal Cruelty Under Maharashta Police Act 119 : which says fine of Rs 2500/- or 1 month Jail or Both. (Case & Lac No : 1544/2015) 

He was kept under police custody until he paid the fine, he was released on bail in the evening.  There was a good coordination & support from Andheri Police Station for Animal Cruelty Cases. 

Case 2 : Stray dogs were beaten late night at 1 AM on 21st June 2015 in Kandivali Ashok Nagar   

On 21st June 2015, Salim Charania received a call from Mrs. Nisha Jain & Mr. Dsouza, resident of Kandivali East about the animal cruelty happening in their neighbouring society.

Mr Dsouza witness the incident on 21st June 2015 that one old man aged 65 named Gangaram Uterkar was hitting stray dogs with sticks and was shooing away stray dogs from taking shelters in the society during heavy rains.

Salim got the above information in the evening, he went in his Animal Anti-Cruelty Investigation Van to Samta Nagar Police Station (Kandivali East), the case was taken to the duty officer and  soon a Police was sent with Pawa India team to get the accused to the Police Station. In the meanwhile, Lata Parmar join the case.

The accused was given good warning & asked him not to repeat this again by the officers and he was booked for Animal Cruelty Under Maharashta Police Act 119 : which says fine of Rs 2500 or 1 month Jail or Both. (Case & Lac No : 1664/2015) He paid the fine of Rs 2500/- and apologise to the Pawa team for his brutal act.
